Jessie James Decker Responds to Being Accused of “Photoshopping” Abs on Her Children
Jessie James Decker won’t stand by and take the abuse.
The singer of “Flip My Hair” recently made headlines when she posted a picture of her family on vacation, including son Forrest, 4, daughter Vivianne, 8, and husband Eric Decker. All three of the children’s toned abdominal muscles are visible in the photo, which garnered a lot of comments from Instagram users. Jessie has since returned to Instagram to silence the criticism.
Jessie’s Nov. 28 post was prefaced with the statement, “I didn’t plan on addressing this because it’s bonkers, but the photos are out there and every single news outlet has posted about this.” “Being accused of photoshopping abs on my kids (I can’t help but laugh) or… the polar opposite over ‘overtraining’ our kids makes me realise how strange our world has gotten regarding the body and what’s normal and what isn’t,” the author writes.
The 34-year-old woman pointed out that physical activity, which Jessie encourages her children to pursue, and DNA are what give her children their muscles.
We preach about body positivity and acceptance, but is it “weird” that my kids have a lot of genetically built-up muscle from sports? She composed. “I want to instil in my children a sense of body and work pride.”
As Jessie outlined, Vivianne’s dedication to competitive gymnastics, Eric Jr.’s aspirations of playing in the NFL, and Forrest’s love of dancing are the sources of their hard work.
The founder of Kittenish exhorted readers to “do better” when it comes to having positive opinions about other people’s appearances. Let’s be accepting of all people, especially children, and let’s not pick and choose what we normalise in terms of bodies, the author urged.
I’m proud of my kids, and I tell them to follow their dreams, she continued. So, we’ll see you at the 2032 Summer Olympics, where you can wear Bubby’s jersey and dance at Forrest’s rock concert.
After posting her message, Jessie James Decker continued to promote her children’s active lifestyles on Instagram by posting videos of Vivianne participating in gymnastics with the caption “See y’all in Brisbane 2032” and Eric playing flag football with the caption “Get your tickets ready.”
The praise didn’t end there, either. Jessie made sure to show everyone a video of Forrest dancing to “Bad” by Michael Jackson. “Hometown concert at Bridgestone arena tbd,” she wrote.
Jessie is not here for the haters, despite the fact that details of Forrest’s Nashville concert are still to be determined.
